KATE Price is terrified she will be targeted by hate mobs after facing the most brutal backlash of her life.

The model has increased security after a baying crowd turned on her at boyfriend Alex Reid’s cage fight.

Things were nastier outside the ring than in it, as booing fans screamed insults and shouted in her face.

The crowd turned against Kate, 31, and Alex, 34, as she admitted they have become the most hated couple in Britain.

Fears for her safety grew after she almost sparked a riot by goading the angry crowd.

Several guards were even forced to step in to stop a scuffle as two fans tried to get to her. Cries of “slag” and “bitch” rang round east London’s Troxy arena as the mood turned sour.

The backlash comes after Kate’s claim she was raped by a celebrity.

Internet chat boards have been packed with angry messages attacking her for using the attack for publicity.

One web poster even warned: “She better watch herself. I can see her letting her gobby mouth take over once too often, she’ll do it with the wrong person one day and someone is going to put a fist in it.”

Kate fuelled more resentment at Saturday night’s cage fight by trading insults with the crowd.

The mum, who is also hated for her treatment of her former husband Peter Andre, yelled at the crowd to “f*** off and die” and flashed V-signs at them.

Defiant Kate was even heard to say: “Everyone hates us. But I don’t care. They’re all c***s.”

But despite her bravado a pal said: “Kate is terrified by the strength of the feeling against her.

“Her antics since the split with Pete have made her a hate figure and the rape claims have made it even worse.

“The mood has turned so ugly towards her that she really thinks someone could try to hurt her, so she is looking twice at her security.”

Her behaviour at the fight just made it all the worse. She downed half a bottle of vodka in half an hour as she cavorted ringside with her mum Amy, brother Daniel and pal Michelle Heaton, 30.

Before the fight, she boasted: “I’m so proud of him. I’ve psyched him up. I’m right behind him.”

The babe also wore a heart-shaped ring on her engagement finger, sparking rumours she is set to wed again.

But it is thought to be another stunt after pals said she was not engaged, although the gem was a gift from Alex.

After her boyfriend had won, Kate flashed her knickers at other girls as she changed into a tiny black dress with the words “The Champ” on her chest.

Alex also felt the crowd’s wrath as they branded his controversial win a fix.

The mob chanted the name of his opponent Jack “The Stone” Mason after Alex had retained his title.

Even Kate’s brother said: “He shouldn’t have won; should have been a draw.”

Jack, 26, now wants a rematch as soon as possible.

He said: “The crowd were right, and thanks to them for their support.

“Deep down, I knew I had to knock out Alex to win the fight. I definitely thought I won it.

“I understand about the politics and the money, but I won that fight.”
