JORDAN: GET ME OUT!

ABOVE: I'm A Celebrity Katie Price wants to quit Australian jungle
20th November 2009

By Peter Dyke

KATIE Price wants to quit I'm A Celebrity she last night threatened, as everyone loves to hate her.

The glamour girl broke down after being subjected to her third gruelling Bushtucker Trial in a row.

And to add to her agony, last night she feared she would have to do her fourth jungle ordeal in as many days.

Heading back to camp after trial No 3 Katie Price stormed: “I’m absolutely ready to leave. I’ve had enough. I miss my children. I’m hungry.

“I want a nice bed and I don’t want to have to put myself through these horrible challenges. I don’t like it. I don’t need it.”

The mum-of-three, the show’s biggest talking point, said she knew viewers were using the trials as a way of getting at her following her divorce from Australian singer Peter Andre, 36.

Kate, also known, as Jordan, has been seen retching as she battled to drink a glassful of crushed beetles.

The model has faced the swampy, bug-infested tunnels of Deathly Burrows, the critter hell of Celebrity In A Bottle and the terror of snakes, roaches and crocodiles in Jungle School.

She said: “I think the public want to give me a bad time.

“You can’t take it personally even though it’s hard not to. They’ve seen me battered for the last three or four days.”

Kate also begged: “Let someone else have a go!”

Despite claims she is turning the series into the Kate Price Show, viewers are voting in their tens of thousands to put her in the spotlight and see her suffer in the evil trials.

Yesterday, her mum Amy said watching the show was like seeing her daughter being “stoned” by the public.

She said: “If the public think that someone has done something wrong it kind of goes back to the process of ‘let’s stone them, let’s make them suffer like the Gladiators’ – it hasn’t changed. It’s just in this public arena.”

Worried telly bosses were last night pulling out all the stops to keep Kate in the ITV1 show.

They know that, love her or hate her, she is the biggest star of the series.

One source said: “Whether you want to see her suffer or you feel sorry for her, people are tuning in.

“It’s vital that we keep her as long as possible.”

And it seems they have already taken some measures to stop her walking.

The camp was divided into rich and poor yesterday and Kate became the “queen of the jungle” – living in luxury while rivals Sam Fox and Kim Woodburn starve in poverty.

Kate landed a prized spot in the posh pad where she can feast on treats and snooze on a bed.

The jungle losers had to up sticks to live in exile in the Aussie rainforest, with nowhere to sleep and only rice and beans for food.

A source said: “The stunt is bound to spark a fight.

“Kate is loving the fact she’s not roughing it. She already thinks she is jungle queen.”

But a show spokesman said: “There will still be daily Bushtucker Trials.”
