THE HOOSIERS LAND REALITY TV SHOW

ABOVE: The Hoosiers are being followed around by a camera crew as they prepare to release a new album
30th July 2010

POP’S funniest trio The Hoosiers have landed their own documentary to show off their non-musical skills.

Singer Irwin Sparkes, 30, bassist Martin Skarendahl, 29, and drummer Al Sharland, 30, are being followed by cameras as they prepare to release a new album.

The Illusion To Safety, out on August 16, is the follow-up to their hit debut.

And it got an airing at a tiny London gig this week.

I was the only journalist invited and new single Choices, out on Monday, sent the crowd wild.

Afterwards Irwin told me: “We feel like three Sly Stallones in Demolition Man – being let out to defrost and getting back into the swing of things.”

To mark their emergence from the studio, Katy Brand Meets… The Hoosiers will air in October after The Xtra Factor on ITV2.

Irwin joked: “We like Katy Perry, she’s a great lady. Katy Brand is funny too.”

And Al admitted: “Doing our own show is something we were unsure about. We’re not N-Dubz, we don’t want to have an entire series. But as a one-off it’s been an experience. We have the final say over the editing so we can make sure nothing slips through we don’t want out.”

The lads are fond of pranks so I’m expecting to see high jinks.

Irwin admitted: “We played an event with The Saturdays recently and asked to have our dressing room next door.

“We snuck in before they arrived and were going to pretend their room was ours. But we bottled it and ran out.”
